SICAM proves to be an unmissable event: international market oriented, with focus on the development of new business relations

Tuesday 10th October the Pordenone Trade Show District sees the inauguration of SICAM’s largest edition so far, with the most extensive design and technology display ever. 583 exhibitors, on 15.115 net sqm will be present this year at the annual appointment of international furniture industry in Pordenone: coming from over 35 different countries (besides Italy of course), international companies make up over 28% of the overall exhibitors present at the event. As always, Germany is one of the protagonists at SICAM with over 50 top-ranking companies, and exhibitors from Spain, Austria and Poland are also on the rise. The Russian, Ukrainian, Indian and Turkey markets have also joined SICAM as visitors, and over the years, their presence has steadily increased, and in some cases (as with Turkey and in smaller measure with India) they have become exhibitors.
Every year the offer at SICAM is highly significant and representative of the best that can be found on the world market. More than in any other exhibition, in Pordenone operators can find real “gems,” representative of the production of many small and medium-sized Italian companies specialising in components and accessories that wish to promote their design and production know-how on the world markets. The Italian companies present at this edition cover nearly the entire national territory, but it is the three macro-regions with the highest number of furniture companies (Lombardy, Veneto-Friuli and the Marche) that constitute the backbone of the national design and technological offer at SICAM 2017: they in fact represent 85% of the offer exhibited. This year the event exceeds all previous editions, including 32.000 square meters of stands and exhibition spaces available in Pordenone. The increased demand for space has resulted in the modification of the previous exhibition layout and the expansion to include the whole of Pavilion 1 in order to satisfy the exhibitors’ requests: the catering service for the company operators on the south side of the Trade Show District is now housed in an elegant brand new tensile structure close to the entrance to the pavilions. The concept of the exhibition however remains the same, with three entry points that evenly distribute the flow of visitors into the Trade Show District and that, on the one hand, give higher visibility to all exhibiting companies, and on the other make the operators’ visit easier. The trade fair’s highly international profile, which has progressively grown over the years, has resulted in SICAM being chosen by the Italian Ministry of Economic Development from among the about 30 international exhibitions held in Italy, to become a “Made in Italy Ambassador” as part of the Made in Italy Promotion Programme. This is an acknowledgement of the quality of SICAM, an event that today is recognised as a key annual appointment by the international sector companies due to its capacity to generate top-level professional relations and encourage new business.
SICAM’s format has been well tested and consolidated; its strong points are its efficiency and the amount of business it generates. However, every year the level of the fair service is upgraded as improvements are made to ensure the best working conditions for all professionals who come here. This year for example SICAM offers a new app to all participating companies: a tool running on all smartphones which allows the direct registration of the visitors’ details at the stands, recoding all the contact details and that can be used to plan an effective and direct follow-up. A simple, effective, and functional technology for managing business at the fair: the quintessential SICAM approach at the service of all companies part of the event.
